Its impossible to bring to CASE.
Photographer didn't dishonour his services or scam the couple. He done his services and delivered his goods as promised.
Who is to say the photos are bad? Is CASE qualified to say that? If yes, by what or whose standard?
Photography is an art. No right or wrong. So in the law, its v hard to prove anything.

Actually I see the social media as a good way to weed out those bad photographers, and keep the good ones in check.
how to weed out? such photographers come in truckload, many of them start from;
"Hi Guys, I am helping my friend to take his wedding photos, first time doing this, please recommend me a good ............."
Business lesson learned: Quality is always more important than quantity. The photographer should weed out the poor quality photos before delivery. That to me, is his primary failure. I am not a wedding photog, but isn't 800 shots too much for a day shoot. With 800 photos, even the good ones (maybe excellent ones) will get 'buried'. Untrained 'photographers' do not know what it is to be a craftsman or an artist. They are just assembly line workers - churning out the pieces to meet a quota. They think that they are paid for their physical labour - running around and pushing the shutter, not knowing or understanding that it is the final images presented to the client that counts. They do not know that the post processing and presentation part is equally, if not more, important.
If he want to give everything to the customer or contractually bound to do so, then the least he could do is to create a folder called 'out takes' for those candid and unflattering images. That way the customer will know that the out-takes are not representative of his standard.

agreed, not that pictures don't come out, it is only "Buay Swee", who is there and how to justify "Swee Buay Swee"?
anyway, one way to do it is to make it a law that all photographers must get a "licence" before they are allow to offer their services, but who will want to open this "can of worms"?
1) Photographer - shouldn't have delivered 900+ photos. it is too much. Lousy photo should be removed. Photographer definitely has some weird taste from his choice of processing done.
2) Couple - probably asking too much for standard tanjiong pagar stuff.

Yeah, there are many bought this set up as their first camera.
Maybe the next wedding camera to get is the D500. Can spray and pray in the dark at high FPS with a superb AF system. Everything sure can catch after that slowly edit
Yeah it used to be that way...they called it credentials.

One thing can be said about the new way however..sure does make people who know what they are doing more desirable and hence better pay!

Maybe he run a batch processing of auto color, auto level and auto contrast of all images. Than burn into a DVD, that take about an hour.

Does licensing photography service ever work? Who in his capacity can define what is better, good, best photo?
Example a chicken rice hawker with good picture on his signboard sell a tasteless chicken rice to you ... do u complain after you ate it and insist a refund? NO.
Its the buyer responsibility to do his homework before handing out the cash to the seller. And is the chicken rice hawker licensed ? YES.

oh yes. most professional or almost anyone can get a license to offer photography service .. just register with ACRA for a fee of $20-30.
