You want to know a scary thing ? I didn't have this problem at the start. After around 3000shots, I'm beginning to see it (I just reviewed earlier long exposures, and didn't have such an issue)

at 100%, it is too many and too random, worse than what I thought, each spot just 1 pixel size,
maybe too many pixel count is not always a good thing.

I was at TK yesterday and David was kind enough to show me a set of D810 they have. The base of the tripod socket was indeed darkened. It appeared like somebody made a mark with a black ink marker. Thought some of you folks would like to know.
Yup. Got mine back yesterday and they added the black mark.. The scary thing though.. will shops put their own black mark in an attempt to sell off older stock ?
