Nikon admits D810 thermal issues

You want to know a scary thing ? I didn't have this problem at the start. After around 3000shots, I'm beginning to see it (I just reviewed earlier long exposures, and didn't have such an issue)

at 100%, it is too many and too random, worse than what I thought, each spot just 1 pixel size,
maybe too many pixel count is not always a good thing.
Also, a body cap test (put body cap, set manual 30second iso 64) does not show this. It only works when there is some light coming in.
Will head down to NSC today to check with them
Like I said a month before It was on shelves.... wait 6 months before buying - once the bugs are out and more so "exposed" or known as fact.....

( Will get a D810 in DEC I think. )I wouldn't want A SERVICE i'd ask for a NEW BODY..... the black dot indicates its a KNOWN ISSUE ! and a batch "escaped" without getting the check..... as such and as known issue does this not fall under lemon laws???....

Sad but its true on the QC thing..... Im a Loyal Nikon User ( still a big fan also ) for 15+ years with many bodies - film and digital used them underwater, climbed to over 7200m in the Himalayas..... Frankly just seems worse every year.... Features and Mpix get better only.
This would probably be due to the need for higher productivity. Somehow I feel that quality tends to be at the expense of productivity and cost cutting measure.
I was at TK yesterday and David was kind enough to show me a set of D810 they have. The base of the tripod socket was indeed darkened. It appeared like somebody made a mark with a black ink marker. Thought some of you folks would like to know.
No. They will send it back to Nikon to be fixed, then Nikon will add the black mark.
