I'm switching from Nikon D7000 to X-E1. Reasons .. my previous photography used to be action shots, now its mainly static shots of sceneries and people (most of them indoors). Although I have the D7000 and 16-85mm, I shot mainly on my X100LE. I love the results from the X100, only sometimes missing the zoom of the D7000.
So with X-E1 with 18mm it can be like my X100 in weight .. or X-E1 with 18-55mm and weight would be even less than the D7000 body alone. The much better quality at high ISO and great skins colours also nailed it. Just waiting for the zoom kit to be available in early Nov 12.

Yes it happens alot. It is a combination of shutter lag (not so much for me), the slow AF (most of the time) or worse, the inability of the AF to lock on (low light).
just got a black XE-1 with 35mm, the silver looks kinda ugly imo compared to the silver in X100.
Same thoughts. Bought black set as well.
In fact, it looks cool even with the handgrip for a black set. My X-pro1 used to look a little bulky with handgrip. With XE-1, especially the black set, the handgrip seems to match the shape very well.

For those of you who bought the X-E1, did anyone of you buy an additional battery? I suspect it will be ridiculously priced above $100.00.
3rd party battery can be bought at 13 to 15 bucks at funan,,, it's e same batt as xpro1
Yes, bought another original as spare, in case one goes down, another continues.
Price is ok when bought mine at my regular shop, but you have to check around as normal retail price is quite high.

I once bought an Ittou NP-150 battery for my S5-pro from Orient as I needed one urgently. I didn't really trust its power rating, but it turned out to be quite a good buy. Still reliable, and able to retain its charge after weeks of storage. Some poor battery will lose all its charge just after 1 week of storage.
