You meant the Tiger that SIA has a majority stake in?Trying to top Tiger?
The aircraft should have more then enough ground time for the maintance crew to clear the aircraft fit to fly. Anyone knows what's the technical problem?
Kudos to SIAEC Line Maintenance (LM) engineers and Scoot aircrew for delaying and not allowing the B772 to takeoff in view of safety considerations despite possible immerse pressure from the higher management to clear the aircraft for flight ASAP.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Scoot replaced TVs with iPads. They forgot to recharge the iPad batteries. Need few hours to recharge.

Whatever it is that was inoperative (inop), one can assume it might might be serious enough to possibly compromise airworthiness since it was not authorised to be dispatched for revenue service as per requirements for operations under a Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) / Minimum Equipment List (MEL) flight conditions and restrictions? :think:The aircraft should have more then enough ground time for the maintance crew to clear the aircraft fit to fly. The greatest of pressure is the one coming from yourself. :bsmilie:chief pilot scoot was the captain..he's higher management too probably only report to CEO

Scoot's maiden flight takes off after 90-minute delay
A sign of things to come? Trying to top Tiger?
Recently SQ A380 always kana AOG .... 2-3 time per month?? Just last week SQ322 kana again...
If it is safety related, then safety is first.
But I have encountered such delay before on a non-budget flight.
If it is something else like having to wait for a VIP, they will never tell you the real reason.
In some other countries, the pilot got no choice, because the VIP may be belonging to ROYAL family of that country. If the pilots fly off without the VIP, their heads will roll literally. It is called Lèse-Majesté.
So the VIP takes his or her own sweet time, the whole plane waits. The pilot can only announce "technical reason" or "safety reason". If he announces that all the plane's passengers have to wait because so&so Royalty or Minister is late, then the pilot is a dead man.
It is Scoot's maiden flight, so it is nearly impossible for the engineering preparedness of the plane to be overlooked.
Plane will be in excellent condition.
More likely a VIP who was very late.
Wait till you have multiple inop equipments on the Configuration Deviation List (CDL) and Minimum Equipment List (MEL) with all the ANDs..., BUTs..., IFs..., NORs..., NOTs..., ONLYs..., ORs...,WITHs... You'll find interpreting electrical or electronics circuit diagrams with complex logic gates in them much more simpler. :bsmilie:but like what you said..if the MEL doesn't allow dispatch..you simply don't dispatch. simple as that. no 2 ways about it.
By then with anti-collision beacons flashing, Minimum Equipment List (MEL) would no longer be legally binding? The Pilot In Command (PIC) / Pilot Flying (PF) does have to options to refer to the Aircraft Flight Manual (AFM) / Aircraft Operating Manual (AOM), Flight Crew Operating Manual (FCOM) / Flight Crew Training Manual (FCTM), Quick Reference Handbook (QRH) and initiate an abnormal procedure as per checklist if necessary? Sorry, me is depot maintenance sai kang warrior not involve with flight ops. :sweatsm:highly unlikely la..the aircraft was already taxying to the runway and then turn back to gate..unless you saying they forgot to pick up the VIP
aircraft may be fault free before dispatch but faults can arise anytime during the flight. my guess would be that they had an EICAS msg which indicated to them a problem which forced them to refer to the MEL which says maintenance required..so bo pian have to go back to gate..

I see, learning something new every single day!before engine start..must check status messages
after engine start till take off roll..status messages no need to check..but EICAS messages still need to check MEL
