Can someone let me know what are the seating capacities for:-

SAM - xx pax

SAM@8Q - xx pax

MIG - xx pax

I will start creating the event signup pages and will need to know the seating capacity as the system will keep track of available seats.

I have also temporarily blocked the Seminars and Photowalks sub-section within the ClubSNAP Special Events section - it is only viewable by Admins, Mods and the assigned project staff.

This is to allow the creation of the individual announcement threads for the talks and walks.

I will post up the individual event sign-up links to be inserted into the threads AND/OR I can directly edit the thread to put in the links.

I propose the following instructions to be inserted into the threads:-

----

CANCELLATION INSTRUCTIONS
If you have signed up for a seminar or photowalk, and are unable to attend, please be considerate to other ClubSNAP members and post your cancellation in this thread so that we can process the cancellation and free up the allocation to another member. Your cooperation will be much appreciated.

----

I am also trying to figure out if there is a way for the member to self-cancel but please use the above method as well so that we are aware. We can post up attendance lists into each thread every other day to inform members of allocations - the lists can be exported from the system very easily.

If anyone wants to test the system, here are two events that I have created as tests - Events organized by ClubSNAP Photography Community - Powered by Eventzilla

We need to move John Arifin to SAM at 8Q - swtich with Olympus.

Olympus is really a pain in the a*r*s*e

Got a ear full from the Irene fella yesterday. Insist on the Chapel for Sat, even when I told them they were unable and late in providing a speaker. She claim Simon got a speaker for them very early from the onset and that is Edward "CactusJack" but then the speaker Edward cannot commit and pull out last minute, hence they were not late and we should have kept the Chapel for them blah.... blah.......

WTF.... I hate olympus idiots since a few years back when they played me out for the Children Cancer Foundation instant print at Olympus........ really pissed me off. Never changed they should go sell roti prata .... fliping their words around. F*u*c*k them off men want $3k sponsorship I can give also.... anytime

No more organising anything here in CS for me... esp if we involve olympus .... WTF

Here's the details from their email

For #1 - it will have to be a manual process and we can cancel their registration after review. That will allow other members to register.

For #2 - I will make the registration subforum with the links to the event registration accessible to everyone except the new members (less than 30 days). It won't be a full solution as the URL links may still leak out, but at least will be a deterrent.

The registration system is a 3rd-party system and does not link back to our software so the functions you listed above are not available. We will have to code and develop our own registration system if we need those functions.

for #2, can we have a mandatory field for them to fill their CS nick, this is to ensure public cannot register.

PE... let me take care of Irene for you once these things are finished .......

Action List
PE, pls inform John of the change in time and venue for his talk
I will inform Gautam to send invites for dinner to Albert & Kim
I will write to Albert & Kim for admin matters

Overall, we are ok with one more free slot.
Ideally I would have preferred one talk per topic to ensure maximum attendance and display the diversity of photography but the world's a realistic place. So now we have three wedding workshops, two on landscape, travel and wildlife respectively.

Sadly the following topics will be missed out (Photojournalism & Activism, Women in Photography, Personal Projects, Educating Photography and *gasp* Conceptual Photography)

hi PE

I assumed you spoke to John regarding this matter.
He just wrote to me and said that he has a class till noon and he cannot make it for the session.
What do you advice? Could you kindly give him a call and resolve this? Thank you.

Thanks, in the meantime will add a caveat on the program time.

I do not recommend doing a double swap at this stage cos

1) need to inform all registars of the swap (its basic courtesy since it was an oversight on our part);
2) speakers may have pumped the news and marked their calendars and they need to re-update as well;

Options
1) we technically still have one empty slot on Sunday at MIG 1630 to 1800 that would be minimal confusion; OR
2) we scrap the talk altogether and leave the slot empty; OR
3) scrap and I will get a replacement, maybe ask Objectifs to talk about educating oneself in photography. They are decent folks who have contributed tremendously to promoting photography locally. If schedule allow I will ask a few other credible course providers to speak

Whatever the changes, pls get buy in from the respective speakers. Thank you.
just update me of the aftermath as I have several meetings today and cant do much on my end.

This is linked directly to our publicity.

When is our newspaper ad? When are the posters to be deployed to the stores? We need to give these some time as well.
What if people see it and want to be involved then? It defeats the purpose of a paid ad and portray us as being unfriendly.
