Sirui tripod

I am not contradicting myself. Let me explain.

I said. My Manfrotto was good but too heavy for my liking.

I said. When choosing for my Manfrotto's replacement, I decided on Sirui because at that time I was told or I read from the web (somewhere that I can't remember now) it is a South Korean brand. I also compared both Benro quality and Sirui and find Sirui quality very different and seem much better than Benro. Benro looks like typical China manufacturing quality. Hence at that time of purchase and until today, I always thought it was a South Korean brand.

Now that you mentioned, I just checked and realized that the sales office is in South Korea but manufacturing plant is in China.

Your contradicting statement "but I never and will never trust China brands" should not be included in your previous thread.

Sirui is 100% China. They have sales offices worldwide, including South Korea. See link below:

1)Sirui good enough right?
2)Which model recommended? (prefer lighter one)
3)3 section or 4 section better cos i think 3 section faster to assemble.
4)Present users maybe can update some info of your tripod and give some reviews?

Sirui is a Chinese company. The GM and founder is a chinese fella born and raised in China. The company is founded in China. The HQ and factory is located in Zhongsan city in Guangdong province.

Most korean brands are just marketing companies that contract Chinese companies to make tripods. These are chinese tripods with just the korean brand slapped on. (eg, Horusbennu). Only a few korean tripod/ballhead brands make their own stuff (markins is one), or run their own factories in other countries.

And so you know, Benro is a lot larger than Sirui with a lot more financial strength. They also own the Induro brand. And Benro is considered to be the top manufacturer of tripods in China. Check out Benro's high end products to see the difference. Sirui is more of a niche manufacturer but what they do, they do well.

actually from what i know. Sirui and Benro is the same company. Just like Manfrotto and Gitzo. One is made for consumer market one for the upper class market.

I was considering Benro previously but I never and will never trust China brands. That is of course my personal preference.

Anyway with home grown technology, the country succeeded in getting their space programme on track and achieved their milestones on time.

Tripod technology comparing with space engineering technology is peanuts to them.

right now my mind is thinking of getting the N series but if i feel that it is too heavy to my liking then i'll maybe just get the T series as i initially wanted a lighter tripod but one that can fit my eye level.

I'm using a N1204 and I find the weight so much managable compare to my previous Manfrotto PROBX

There is no ambiguity in your explanation. You said you bought your Sirui from TK. Well, many of us also bought our Sirui from TK. The first words that salespeople from TK utter to us was "Sirui is made in China". If it is a Korean brand, made in China, I am sure they would have mentioned that as well.
After buying the Sirui, you should get more facts before you write "but I never and will never trust China brands". "Never trust" are very strong words! Because who knows, in future, you may be flying in a China make/Brand commercial airplane.

Was there last night.
The T-1204X and T-1205X are currently out of stock.
N series have some stock.
The rest are the T-22XX series which are slightly heavier and bigger.
Aluminum series still got stock.

using sirius t series. 4 section is easier to stow away. extending them is never an issue since it is quater locking. center column has option piece which allow you to reduce the shooting height real close to the ground.

price cannot go wrong.

Another quick check. The difference between the TX1205 and TX2205....it mentions that TX1205 for <200mm lens and TX2205 for less than 400mm lens

Does it means that if I have a 70-300mm lens, I have to go for the TX2205 instead??

Anyone know is it cheaper to get this in HK than China?

Its very worth it to buy in China but not sure about the shipping though. When my friend went to China I asked him to get a Benro KB-1 ballhead for me, selling at 180sgd here but only 100sgd there. Same for Sirui, significantly cheaper than here in sg. You can check out ebay, the manufacturers sometimes put their products on there.
