I got idea of this one from dd123's post yesterday:)

ehping,

good first tries!

One thing to note... it is nicer to take a sunrise right before the sun emerges from the horizon... the sky is a lot nicer in colors.

As for the jetty shot, good start. Maybe you can try to move closer to shoot, and get a higher angle and place the horizon near the top 1/3 of the frame. This is my shot there... (with the older wooden pontoon) click to see larger version.

i was thinking you guys are expert of sun shooting. And more familiar with you. Before I go this Sat's outing, practice some myself. :)
Like #1, may even work without the actual sun...I was also out to catch this morning sun.. quite OK sunrise.. just a bit late (because of the cloud :( ) .. see u on Sat

Bro ZCA, you want to borrow my 80-200mm Nikon mount, drop twice from 1m plus height.. waiting for someone to drop a third time and kill it.. ;)

Frankly, I cant bare to live without it.. the sharpest lens, the most trusted lens (to me) and for me

the one with higher hit-rate than sliver ang :)

no no no... :nono:

history has shown that people tend to flock to nnb. Guys and gals alike. :bsmilie:

Oh.. mister Universe.. (seem like he does quite a bit of body toning) [if I didn't see the wrong studio pic]

Thank you so much. You guys are really my Shifu.

Actually i was there since 530am till 715am. Shoot more than 100 photos, tring different setting. Here are some before sunrise, by using different white balance setting. Not sure what the best setting are. Need more advise from you guys.

I will try again for the small pontoon. I live there, walking distance :bsmilie:

#4 is nice.

#5 has a lot of potential. If you can bring down the exposure slightly, and lower the exposure of the sky slightly more, the picture can be a killer.

Thank you again :)

almost all photos I took this morning were used bracketing compensation (+1 and -1). only #5 I didn't use. :( So sad.

I feel these photos are not sharp. Any reasons? Hope I can shoot some better photos this Sat with you guys's help.

I like pic 4 better for the colour and clarity. However, you might want to move a bit so that the boat will be in the clear and not merge with the background

pic 5 the sky slightly over exposed (unless this is your intention) photo will work better if you can decide proportion of sky and water. More sky or more water.
