I like pic 4 better for the colour and clarity. However, you might want to move a bit so that the boat will be in the clear and not merge with the background

pic 5 the sky slightly over exposed (unless this is your intention) photo will work better if you can decide proportion of sky and water. More sky or more water.

:)hehe not my intention. pic 5 was taken at at 7am. So it was over exposed. Yes maybe more sky. The horizon is not at 1/3 place.

So pic 6 is a failure? Either dd123 or you no comments about it.

Thank you so much. You guys are really my Shifu.

Actually i was there since 530am till 715am. Shoot more than 100 photos, tring different setting. Here are some before sunrise, by using different white balance setting. Not sure what the best setting are. Need more advise from you guys.

I will try again for the small pontoon. I live there, walking distance :bsmilie:

hehe. I just counted 171 pics.
Were trying different setting, explosure, white balance. Because I am not sure what the best settings are. So keep trying different. More than one hour alone at there, can only play camera and nothing else.:)

That is the good attitude which will help you gain a good foundation and you can improve a lot from there.

now working lah... don't have time to go into details.
basically, 2 main things don't work for pic 6.
1. composition - it is not that messy, seems like trying to use the rules of third however, nothing seems to fall into place.
2. b&w not contrasty enough. Lack of highlight, a bit of shadows and everywhere mostly midtones.
3. and empty sky that don't help the pic.

oppss that was 3.

shhhhh! Don't let others see your message, wait they emo again! ;)

wakakakakka... help help, my camera also got hot pixel, and i dont know how to take out my batt grip....:sticktong

Saw the hot pixel topics in Nikon subforum. Many people concern about it. Not very sure how it is. Look like they are trying some extreme situation and the hot pixel come out. Maybe let you try my camera at Sat morning.

One thing about my camera about P mode is still not clear. At P mode, when I turn the main control, the aperture and shutter didn't change. Menu mentioned it should change. How come?

In P mode, the camera chooses the shutter and aperture value for u...

It will give you a few combinations... but if the light conditions is extreme, there will be only one setting... nothing to choose from.

Okie, that is clear enough to explain the failure. Maybe just a boat it self with water will be better.
