Sirui tripod - 4 or 5 sections

depending how much u really wanna invest in your hobby.

Currently Best future proof ballhead are using Arcaswiss type plate. If you looking for something compact and willing to spend up to $400, u can try Markins Q3T with good performance.

Heard that Photoclam (can try XX33XX, something like this) produce good ballhead as well, of cuz Markins are more reliable, consider this is you are on Budget.

FYI good arcaswiss plate are not cheap too... eg. Wimberly universal camera plate cost ard SGD100 now at cathay photo

Actually if you think about it, Photoclam is not all that much cheaper than Markins. If you compare retail pricing, the difference is $100. If you buy Markins off ebay from sellers in Korea, and after you factor in shipping and all. The difference is only around $30-$50. With that kind of difference, I will take Markins over Photoclam anyday.

BTW, I am not using either. I am too cheapo to use such expensive ball heads. Plus, my heaviest set up is around 2KG only. I am still very happy with manfrottos.

true enough
any idea what is the price for Photoclam 33 range? I am looking to buy another BH just for travel use. I feel M10 is too big. lolx

So can i assume that the weight is the main difference? In this case the difference in weight must be really great. I was searching around and some tripods have no ballheads, using those plates i guess. Kind of confuse me.

weight is one thing.
the other is the smoothness of operation and the reliability/durability.
Some can hold a huge load steady whilst being relatively light.

You try those $100 ballhead and those $300+ ballhead and see the difference. After that it's only a matter of willingness to spend....

BBB

Hi All,

Just back from TK Photo a few hours ago. Check the price for T2004X ($330.00) which comes together with the ballhead. I read earlier that the Sirui ballhead is not recommended. May i know why is it so? Any affordable ballhead to recommend me? :)

It is perfectly fine to use.. Just that there are better alternatives to use. It is a good ball head that holds its load well. To me if you are on a 400 dollar budget like me it is a purchase that serves its function. Just note that you can buy the tripod without the ball head for a cheaper price.
