hi newbie here,
just need to check if i could download any software into my 500d...like picture style or watever which can shoot picture better.:bsmilie:

picture style is simply adjustment of a few parameters... no need to download.. just read what other hv it set and just follow..

you shoot better.

the camera doesnt.

i think no need to mention those sentences again la.. ya ya the thing behind the camera matter most.. haha.. we all heard that..

but its good to tweak the camera photo style that suits ur needs, as it saves u a lot of time editing it later... for my 450D i normally hv the contrast higher and tone also higher... something that looks more "nikon" ..haha.. i shld had just bought a nikon in 1st place

Don't blame the camera...

actually what is picture style ar?

No matter what i do, i dont really see the difference... hahahha

but if i change to my friend's EFS 17-55 from my tamron 17-55 i can see significant contrast increase.

To save me Any regrets of "i should have set this and that just now" i just shoot in raw. (unless im firing away at some event/function)

When i first bought my 500D, I just used the standard style. Now i'm shooting RAW. More control.
just play around.

i don tink the link can download for my 500D..i try before..

uh you don't download anything..
read the page.
its about the picture styles that are built into your camera already...

the camera aint gonna shoot photos for you, thats what a photographer does.

As in picture styles is the feature which allows you to set image processing parameters like sharpness, contrast, saturation etc. to determine how the JPG will look like.

also, it allows you to shoot B&W photos in camera if you select the monochrome picture style.

I like to set my sharpening high on my picture style because i find canon's default sharpening is not enough. If you like your photos to look good out of camera, you might also want to pump saturation a bit. It's up to your personal choice. The differences are slight, but noticeable if you compare up close.
