Good quality plastics should be able to keep their natural colours as long as you don't leave it in the sun all day long which is the case. You should be more worried about accidently staining it instead when rubbed against a dirty surface.
I do agree white is a sexy and eye catching colour (just think of FW's XMM episode at macs ;)) and likely it will also win over some of the more fickle buyers with their uniqueness. :)

Hmm, what XMM episode? How come I didn't know? ;):D

Oh that one. I didn't pay any attention to those XMM around us, probably because I'm too old to look at those young kids :)

Fengwei, you are too engrossed in installing my focussing screen and fondling your own whitey!

Okay, finally photobucket reset my bandwidth. Now you can see those testing photos again :)

sorry to side track alittle, just got my kx! =) Impressive high ISO with low light even with the kit lens i must say.

anyhow i wanted to check if my kx is ok. It takes 2-3 seconds to review a picture after taking the shot. Using an SDHC 8GB Class 6. Thought it would be instant =(
Hdr was off and no post processing options were on. Is this the normal?
Batteries used were eneloop(which somehow reports orange status [brand new]) even as they are set to Nimh.

Thanks in advance!

is the auto CA correction and distortion correction on? that will increase processing time..it depends whether the lens will support this feature. turn it off for instant preview..

Hi there. You were spot on. Didn't remember that those corrections played a part too :embrass:
Instant review it is. Thank you!:)

glad it helped, congrats and enjoy your new k-x!

Does the kx have the distortion and CA correction too, like the k7? I thought only the k7 has this feature. If it is so, does it only apply to DA lenses?

The K-x has the chromatic aberration and distortion correction features when using Pentax DA and DFA lenses like the K7.

That's news to me. Any other shared traits?

How's Pentax Kx AF speed compared to K10? Am about to sell my Pentax K10 to change it with this one?

Thanks!

i think with firmware updates they might add support to more lenses for auto CA/distortion correction. as of now my k-7 is able to correct for tamron 17-50mm..but old manual lenses are out of the question.

Kx almost share the same software as the K7, so whatever available for K7, mostly would be in Kx as well :)

AF w/ Kx is quite a bit faster than K20D (which is slightly faster than K10D), the difference is very obvious.

If you can live w/ the interface of Kx (no front wheel, less button, smaller body, no top LCD and etc.), you'd be fine w/ the new camera. Or of course the other thing is battery. I know not everyone likes AA batteries. ..

Really? That's new to me. I thought only Pentax DA lenses are supported. Thanks for sharing :)

Till now I have not been able to see a real life set for K-X..:( I want to know roughly whats the size of the K-X? Is it smaller than the 500D? I am looking at something which is as small as possible, maybe around the size of the Oly E450?

I went to some shops and ask to see a sample set but all said they don't have a sample set so till now didnt manage to have a hands-on on how the K-X looks and feels like.

Call Emjay to inquire.

Here is the size comparison:

K-x: 123 x 92 x 68 mm
500D: 129 x 98 x 62 mm
E450: 130 x 91 x 53 mm

Hope you get the idea about how small Kx is. Kx is narrower but thicker, its grip feels the best. Of course this is a personal thing, better try it in store if you can. I think you should be able to try the camera at CP/OP/MS Color. Or just get a Km and see how you feel about it. Km and Kx are pretty much the same camera on the outside. But inside they are quite different.

There is one K-x on the display window at one of the shop in Peninsular Plaza. Near Cathay Photo and directly opposite Prime Photo. Stand outside can see the K-x already.
