Rechargeable battery: which one?

What kind of rechargeable battery do you use?

Instead of opening another thread, i will ask:

Eneloop - Heard its good cos it retains its power after 1 mth none usage, but they only have 2000mAh? 4AA for flash last about 300+ shots, gets hot while using, Only quick charge available with charger and not both normal n quick.

Powerex - Also another highly recommanded, But does'nt retain power like eneloops do. 2700mAh available, charger C401 have the option of selecting slow and fast charge.

But i only use the external flash once in a while, otherwise most of the time it would be kept in its pouch, so does the batts.

Any kind advice from bros here?

tried Sony. (the older types long ago) Discharged very fast.
Sanyo Eneloops are good.

I once bought a set og GP 2800. Get cheated. It never works that way!

There is one name...ross. It just die after 2 charges.

Energizer 2500 and 2450 for me since I bought the charger that came with 2 free AAs.

These are the ones that came ready to use straight from the pack and hold their charge for around 6 months(not full charge of course).

Which reminds me, need to get another 4 more. :bsmilie:

My energizer takes forever to charge. I was thinking of a change, I see that the popular brand is Sanyo Eneloops. How much is it for the charger and 4 batteries?

Is there any thing wrong with the Eneloop that I used, it takes at least 24 hours to fully charge ? Sometimes I wonder how much is the actual charging cost as compared to the cost of buying normal batteries !

What is the charger that you are using? What is the input charging current?

The charger is the original set sold by AP, inclusive of the batteries. Is there a difference ? Appreciate your advice. Thanks !

Original SANYO charger that came with the Eneloops? Should be optimised to charge the capacity of the Eneloops (2000 mAh) Since it is taking so long, I think there is something wrong with the charger.

Ansmann 2600/2850

Yes, I used original SANYO charger that came with the Eneloops. So what is the charging duration for a good working charger? Sounds like I have to buy another set. Which shop offers good pricing ?

There is no fixed charging duration. The duration depends of the current input and the capacity of the batteries. But you mentioned that you needed "at least 24 hours to fully charge", then I think that it is taking too long. Eneloops are rated at 2000 mAh (assuming that it is AA size). So, if your charger rated input current is say, 200 mA, it will take 10 hours to fully charge a fully depleted Eneloop. In your case, Old Boy, 24 hours will mean that yuor input current is about 80 mA?

HTH.

I use Eneloop too! I spent around $60 on batteries and charger! HAHA!! http://www.ardenmktg.com/ is one good website to go to

Eneloop should charge between 2-4 hours max depend on which Eneloop charger you are using,

i saw Eneloop with three different sets of charger. one stating 1 hr quick charge, one 2 hours quick and one unknown hours. wats the main difference other than charging time
