No free WIFI access at Singapore Changi Airport.:thumbsd:

Hong Kong Airport has free WIFI access supplied by PCCW.

What a big joke, no Wireless@sg at a public location like Changi Airport.

My overseas friends were commenting that they've to wait for the free internet computer to be available and asking why there is no free WIFI access.

How's the speed?

Speed is terrible. The ping is 3150 average:bigeyes: . The loading of clubsnap is slightly faster than 56K.

I would rather use a paid service at a small fees for wireless service.

Kiasu.
Signed up for all 3 even though I don't hav a portable wireless access platform.

Haha..

No free WIFI access at Narita either... :thumbsd:

So ur point being? :dunno: Other than putting the local airport down for the sake of doing so (it seems).

This is feedback to improve Changi Airport.

I think PDA units will be a hot selling items henceforth.

My favourite is Dopod D810

Looks like his point is that Singapore is making a big thing out of this, but actually it is not that a big thing (yet).......as compared to other countries.....

Anyway, it is free, and people still complain.......if you have grievances, tell them lah! They have to know the weak points, thats what they were asking for in the write up above. No point writing in here, they don't read Clubsnap.

Hongsien,

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say. Thanks.

Maybe DPM Lee is reading it as he mentioned Clubsnap during the rally.

good things come to all who wait

i will surf if it is free, but i don't want to be connected all the time
sometimes you must have a real life offline

btw i tried the hotspot at sengkang CC b4 1st Dec
the speed there is good

Hey seriously, why are we even complaining?
It's a free service, just use it and be happy with it.

We should appreciate what we have, rather than complain and complain over the how this or that doesn't meet our needs. In any case, this is free, and the service has been rolled out for barely a week. I think IDA and ths ISPs have done pretty well so far. I have tried the hotspot along citylink mall and find it decent enough for email/light surfing.

Why complain abt ping? u gonna game online outside? come on.

Without this svc, u would not be able to surf AT ALL without paying.

dude, many big airports do not have free internet @ the moment.
I am sure free wireless internet will be available soon.

Most airports require you to PAY for internet access via credit card or buy a "wireless pass" for x hours at a sign-up counter. This is what I had to do @ Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam.
And mind you, the rates are not cheap.

tell that to the international tourists who are on transit in singapore. changi airport is "supposed" to be of "world-class" standard, if it doesn't have such a service which is so commonly present in countries like Hong Kong, that's sad. Note that xtemujin is stating that his overseas friends are disappointed, dun aim your flames at the wrong direction.

Wireless will come soon. If u r wondering, schiphol airport in netherlands is also a top class airport ranked equally with HK. As jsbn also mentioned in the thread, Narita Airport in Japan also does not have wireless just yet.

I hope you will also appreciate what spore has to offer. Yes, of course there are areas to be improved, but dun expect instantaneous changes. I feel wireless@sg is already a great initiative with a great start.

Have been using the M1 wireless for 5 months now. Good that the 3.5G network kicks in, now I get higher speed and lower cost somemore. :)
