Which lens would you choose?

Only left with 2 choice as Tokina does not have the range and Canon is out of my reach. Which lens would you choose?

Sigma
17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM


Tamron
SP AF17-50mm F2.8 XR Di II VC

I would suggest the sigma although I haven't used it before. The tamron non-VC is apparently sharper than the VC version but VC/IS/OS is very helpful at times so I would suggest the sigma. Sigma has/had some rebate to clear its old lens and it was selling @ $5++ at TKFoto last month. Not sure if it has ended though cos it was supposedly to have ended 31/09/2013.

Owned all 3, but wud oni settle for either efs17-55 or sigma,
Wun talk too much bout IQ as it's all over the net even YouTube comparison,
So my Tammy din last me more den a week, it was good, everything was good,
But The thing bout Tammy 17-50 is dat the feel on my hand really isn't want I wanted but it's really extremely light, too plasticky,
Sigma n canon ones feel very good, esp canon,
For me, I had never printed any of my photos, but all photos are in my iPad,
Really couldn't tell which pic comes out from which lens in my iPad, but than again I do not earn $ from my equipments,
Since there's sigma n Tammy to choose from, sigma would b a good choice as it's probably bout the same price now,

Between these 2, go for the Sigma.

Ultimately, Canon is the best.

Thanks all for the input... if $$$ is not a concern I'll go for Canon. With mouths to feed... I'll settle with Sigma. Anyone know the price?

$700-ish for a grey Sigma, meaning no local warranty, only shop warranty.

or for $100+ more, you can get a second hand 17-55 off BnS.

Wow... gery also not cheap.... still to the kit lens first till I save enough... thanks all for the comment
