Which flash suit?

I am a beginer, with 450D, thinking of getting a flash, 430 or 580EX, any advise?

If your budget allow 580II then go for it......

Go with the 580Ex II. You wont regret, neither am I

580Ex II is a powerful flash. Do take note of battery power consumption though. Have fun...

If you're on a tight budget, go for the Sigma EF-530DG. It's almost like the power of a 580EX for the price of a 430.

i was and still am facing this problem. 430EX or 580EX for my 450D? people told me 430EX will be good enough. unless shooting events (correct me if i'm wrong). and you're bound to upgrade your camera one day right? i believe you will go for a 580EX or a newer model (if there's one) after upgrading too. at that point of time, 430EX will come in handy as a slave flash.

simply put, having more power is better as you can lower your output. if one fine day you need more power than what the 430 can produce, you will be :hung:and :mad2:.
