Using compact digital camera (FujiFilm F30) with macro lens

Hi,

My first post here. I have a F30 and have been using it mainly for holiday and family photo. Recently got interested in macro photography and initially thinking of getting either a Canon S5 IS or a Sony H3 as my F30 just cannot do macro shot good enough.

However, I happen to find that there are universal adapter available for F30 and with that, I can attach macro lens like RAYNOX DCR-250.

Anyone done this before and can advise me if this is doable.
