Hi guys,

Should be getting a tripod next week
Budget is relatively low, doing part-time work only
Below $200
Any decent recommendations that I can get at CP?
Thanks in advance for replies!
Cam is H2, btw - Sony
slik sprint pro is able to support, but if you are looking for a steadier leg, maybe the slik 330dx or 340dx would fit the bill. they are all considered very light when you compared to manfrotto 190 series

iirc $80+ for the sprint pro and 120-130 for 330/340dx.. im using the 330dx, no problem support d50+sb600+80-200 f2.8 with the default pan-tilt head

How about this? I am using it and I have no complains about it.

Check out the Benro Tripods offered at CS.com. Here is the link - http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=201502

200SGD is reasonable budget for a tripod.

the common ones of fair to good quality at various price range are manfrotto, gitzo, feisol, giottos, slik, PPCP and velbron.

ohh, i also liked the SLIK Sprint Pro GM due to its small size which makes it easier to lug around ^^

k k , say if i'm mostly taking landscapes
ie. not people
just things
would i really need a ball head
so far sprint pro sounds good, hrmph

sprint pro come with a ballhead, but it get wear out pretty easily especially on heavier cam.
if you intend to upgrade, maybe the 330/340dx will be a better option. but there is still a limit to the "upgrade", it can't hold those super heavy lens.

hrmph, not going to get dslr anytime soon
thoguht about it carefully
right now no way to have money to support, still studying
H2 isn't that heavy for a cam, right> =D
hrmph, k sprint pro it is
where's what tk photo, it's cheaper than cp?

Where's that? =D

Have bought my stuff from eugenep on several occasions and I went away with  impressions everytime.

Pushing your budget now better then having to change/upgrade later. Buy a good set of legs and you'll be set for a long long time! :D

Hee hee, actually I went back to see just..
Price is actually ok for me
But then ar, I don't know much about tripods
Which is why I wanted to go to shop and get a nice uncle to explain to me =D

If my tripod is primarily used for say, landscape photography
a)would i really need a ball head, i think pan tilt head would do, but i don't really know whether eugenep is selling that
b)and which setup would be best, don't want something too heavy, no point buy already muscle pain don't use =D
