Hi all,

I am thinking of going down to shoot a golf tournament. Any things that i should observe?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers!

never ever take a shot when the player is:

1. addressing the ball
2. on the back swing
3. at the peak of the back swing just before the down stroke

it's at these moments when his/her concentration is most focused. (this also applies for putting.)

use of flash is also a no-no.

try to minimise or avoid movement altogether when the player is making his swing. he may pick up your movement in his peripheral vision and that will affect his concentration.

Thanks patch17 for the prompt reply.

Sure don't know wish to do something stupid to affect the players.

Cheers!

U will not be allowed near the golfers when they are teeing off or putting. U will need long lenses at least 200mm to get decent close up shots. If u are taking group shots then u will normally do so at the tee box before they tee off so your usual "group shot lens" about 28 to 80mm would be useful. U may wish to use a fill in flash as some golfers wear their caps for group shots and part of their faces will be in the shade.

most impt - know the meaning when they shout "FORE!!!" ;)

ha ha... i'd be pretty darn worried if a pro golfer shouted "FORE!" (these guys usually hit what they aim for.) :bsmilie:
