iphoto rocks!

My iPhoto get very slow after having lots of photos. Then I gave up on it.

macbook here! love the speed of the intel processors and the beautiful screen.. gone are the days of pesky viruses, crashy windows and the long and slow defragging process.

I think "crashy" is too much, it's like it crashes every day or every week. My XP has been quite stable so far, though it crashes occassionally but far from "crashy". OS X, on the other side, is definitely stable and rarely should I see one hang.

iphoto rocks!

Don't quite like iPhoto too. Like Shu22 said, it gets a bit slow after you have too many photos in it. It was slightly better with iPhoto 6 but it still got on my nerves. Now i'm using iView MediaPro.

for me if it reaches 10gb it will be slow, so in a way it reminds me to back up my photos. once done, and delete the archived photos, it's very snappy.

I support a mac thread in CS! Can get to know all the mac users here.

Cheers!

 iPhone?? I want one too....

Too bad gotta wait till next year before it comes to asia. How's the iPhone?

Its every bit just like the keynote presentation, only they did not do it on the AT&T network... but once it is in the range of wi-fi, it is like having a palm size mac. However, despite its super GUI, it has limitations as a phone, e.g. it cannot send mms and the bluetooth will only pair with a headset, i.e. you cannot send files to pr from another bluetooth enable device. Another thing is that it does everything through iTunes, even activation of the phone. Other than that, it is GREAT!

Or try Aperture with Bridge CS3 combo. If you are still running PowerPC, CS2 would be better IMHO.

iphoto is good for minor photo edit but not so for photos management. It loads everything within the library which is why u experience it slowing down with the increased amount of pics.

oh, btw, from an ibook to a macbook.. can't find any reason to get a mbp.. but crazy enough to be working part time at an apple store.. :)

New convert to the world of Mac. Used emacs a long time back in uni for programming. Now I have come full circle to embrace my new 20" imac for home use and digital imaging work.

Welcome all to the WHITE side ... hahahaha

Not just the White Side lei.....there is still the Black MacBook and the Silver MacBook Pro And Mac Pro. Hehe.........So welcome to the Grey Side.........:bsmilie:

just realised this thread has been moved unannounced from Digital Darkroom, at which i was given the initial go-ahead to start this thread.

oh well, as long it serves the purpose =)

keep the posts coming

don't forget iphoto is good for snappy quicktime slideshow with mp3 soundtrack of your choice.

hello. fellow 20" iMac 2.16Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo user here. Pretty much loved the stunning colours of the mac and Aperture for minor edits for large quantities of photos and its stability and interface.. but one problem.. how come my mighty mouse scroll ball now only works in one direction after a few months.. dust ?
... i don't want to replace the mouse..

Hi all, just joined the Mac Community last week when I got my MacBook. 2.16Ghz 120gb hdd. Not so intune with the specifications yet and quite very green at handling Mac OS, but hope I get more proficient in time to come. Still unsure if I should go for Aperture or CS3, anyone can recommend?

Thanks!

guys, if order online how long Apple singapore take to deliver ? :D Sorry for funny question.

Mac : "Hi, I'm a Mac"
PC : "And I'm PC"
Mac : "Hey PC, how have you been doing on the internet forums community?"
PC : "Well, they still have massive discussions about spreadsheets in Vista, and this is a BIG thing"... (glows)
(Mac raises an eyebrow)... (stares at PC)
PC : "What?"
Mac : "Well, there is a forum call ClubSleaze, err... ClubSnap that has loads of very interesting people and photos and girlie... err... models, and they have started a thread to talk about Macs!"
PC : "Err... We get loads of porn site pop ups..."
(Mac frowns)
(PC blushes)

End of ad...

They usually state that as you place an order. Look closely and it will show the delivery timeline. Cheers.

I only use iPhoto for slideshows of the pics that i've taken, it's just convenient la.

So, which Apple Store do you work in? ;p

Welcome to the Mac World. It shouldn't take long for you to get used to OSX and you will never turn back to a PC.

ahha, thanks. Still fumbling my way thru, but having a ball with it. I hear that Windows Vista is actually very similar to OSX. Is this true?
