i recently did a full day shoot and got paid 1k in us dollars
but thats a fluke cuz clients are swiss people.

regularly its about 120-150 per shot if its like 2 or 3 shot job

at least 800 for full day.

but if u every get hired to shoot for reputable magazines, fasion or otherwise remember its 100 per picture promised

i am far from a pro - but this is a great thread to find photographers in (i am going to direct my friend who is getting married next June to this thread)...kudos

I must admit, that I've also had some difficulty determining how much to charge people for full-day wedding AD photography. But after a few years of experience, I set it at a certain price-point. Some people probably think I'm crazy to charge so much, while others have no qualms paying me my rate. Some can even say my rates are "cheap", wor.

I guess it all boils down to who you're talking to. And from a client's perspective, sometimes it's less a matter of how "good" your shots are, but whether they like your style and whether they like YOU or not.

Price Vs Quality. End of day, its the client who thinks its pricey / cheap. It depends on their expectations and budget.

For us photographers.. its always never enough..

Now where was i.. Ah yes.. the new 1Ds Mark III... $ 15,000 Hmmm....

Actually I've come to realise that how clients value photography is very much related to how the photographer himself/herself values photography.

i totally agree with this!

think we need to come up with a new survey. rates have moved up so much I don't think the number are entirely relevant anymore.
Imagine when the survey came out $500/hr and above was considered scary, now quite a few photogs are charging that and beyond. I wonder what the distribution is now?
