The New Paper New Face 2012 Grand Finals will be held this Thursday October 4) at Takashimaya Square. This year marks a milestone as the contest by The New Paper (TNP), published by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), marks its 20th edition!
The New Paper New Face has discovered fresh faces who went on to have successful careers in modelling and show business.
Former New Face girls who have made their names in the modelling world include Victoria Bradbury, Nargis Musawwir, Vivien Ong, Christabel Campbell and Sara Chan. In entertainment, successful New Face alumni include Dawn Yeah, Nura J, Julie Tan, Rebecca Spykerman, Jessica Tan and Jayley Woo. Other well known former New Face participants include radio deejay Jacqui Thibodeaux, modelling agency owner Serena Adsit and beauty queens Colleen Francisca and Genecia Luo.
Besides getting her name added to the impressive list of past winners, the winner of The New Paper New Face 2012 will get a feature in Seventeen magazine and $10,000 in cash. The 1st and 2nd runners-up will each win $5,000 and $3,000 cash respectively.
Mr Dominic Nathan, Editor of The New Paper, said: "We are in for an exciting finish. From the 250 hopefuls who started, 20 young women have made it through the four rounds, to the finals. SMS voting for The New Paper Miss Popularity award is already underway and a clear favourite has already emerged.

Judging the twenty fresh-faced finalists this year are:
1. Mr Ken Jalleh Jr, Creative Editor of The New Paper
2. Mr Glenn Tan Executive Director of Tan Chong International Ltd
3. Ms Valerie Wee, Editor of Seventeen magazine, SPH Magazines
4. Mr Addy Lee, celebrity hairstylist and Director of Monsoon Group
5. Mr Max Tan, fashion designer
6. Ms Nargis Musawwir, international runway model and Winner of The New Paper New Face 2006
In addition to the title of The New Paper New Face, there are five subsidiary awards to be won this year. They are:
1. The New Paper Miss Popularity award
2. The New Paper Best Catwalk award
3. Subaru "Miss Vivacious" award
4. Miss Levi's award
5. Clinique "Miss Beautiful Skin" award
The winner of the Clinique "Miss Beautiful Skin" award will win $1,000 worth of Clinique products, while the winners of the other subsidiary awards will each win $1,000 in cash.
The New Paper Miss Popularity Award will be given to the finalist who received the most votes by readers of The New Paper.
The New Paper New Face 2012 is presented by Subaru Motorimage, and co-sponsored by Levi's, Clinique and venue sponsor Takashimaya.
