The Sigma 50/1.4 HSM is awesome. I bought it last month while I was at Yodabashi Camera in Roppongi. The Sigma lens focused faster than the Sony, produced sharper pics and is quieter than the Sony 50. The same applies when comparing it to the Sigma non-HSM 30mm.

I really haven't shot many pics with 300/2.8. I'll probably start hitting up some of the bird sights next month.

Nice. Got any sample shots? So if I have a Sony 50/1.4, would it be worth it to trade up to a Sigma 50/1.4?
