The Explosive Countdown 2012 Fireworks display at Marina Bay.

8 Mins...more then enough for a couple of nice ones. And these pics are straight out of camera other then resize...not bad.

I am guessing thats what people at Esplanade Bridge thought of as they tore down the pathetic "wall" blocking their view. And the people everywhere cheered them on.

I wonder how much it cost to view the event from the river taxis, the entire fleet was there filled to the brim with passengers.

First up was the Marina Bay Sands Laser show.

Played a bit while waiting for fireworks display.

Finally it was time for the fireworks display.

Thankfully the wind changed direction at last minute so the smoke went towards the Promontary area. Practically covered some buildings in smoke.

The trains was so congested decided to stay overnight and catch the first rays of 2012.

Just moments before sunrise.

As the sun was rising, surprised to see the party on top of MBS still going on.

As i felt the first rays, feels good to know its another year of photographic opportunities.

Wonder how you spent your time, from after the fireworks to dawn. I suppose you moved around shooting more and more. I guess it gotta be quite tiring to hang around till dawn.

Apart from McD, is there any 24hr cafe around there? for some refreshments?

Maybe, next year, I might book a room either at the Pan Pacific, Marina Mandarin or the MBS Hotel. Not that expensive if you go with an extended family, for the ambience and fireworks. Can take a rest and go back the next morning. Or catch the sunrise. As I am getting older, needs more rest la.

actually you are quite on the mark. Marina Bay Sands foodcourt is 24hrs for some of the stalls and take note that the 7-11 shops at CityLink not 24hr one. McD and Starbucks at CityHall epicly full of people.
