Hope they will really improve.

Hope they will really improve.
i think the editing is much better this time. Doubt they can do anything about the dodgy dismissal part but the rest is spruce up. Like the pace this time.

Very quality judging still.

A shame that Fiona is out. I like her picture from the first episode, but I think she didn't do too well today.

hmm.. any idea where i can catch this online ?

For this episode, the contestants were given a Nikon D300s, a AF-S 17-55mm f2.8 and a SB-900 Flashlight.

Joey and Liew won the advantage challenge and were given an additional AF-S 24mm f1.4G.

AF-S DX 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED
is developed exclusively for use with Nikon DX Format digital SLR cameras.
The 17-55mm range exceeds 3x zoom to broaden wide angle to medium telephoto photographic possibilities, and the lens maintains fast f/2.8 aperture throughout to make it practical and easy to use.

AF-S NIKKOR 24mm f/1.4G ED
is a high-performance, fast, wide-angle fixed focal-length lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.4. Great for shooting in low light situations.

I was quite impressed with some of the shots... rather creative despite the time constraints.

My bro taped the wedding photography episode for me and I must say I'm far from impressed :nono: A few glances at the wedding photography sub-forum, all better than what was shown.

That said, I'll hold back judgment and watch the rest, maybe it's just not their strong area. Then again, versatility is critical in a reality show like this...

And as the rest said...it felt B-grade and very rushed. When it ended I was like...huh? Where's the explanation on the process, the selection, etc etc.

Thanks for sharing :)

Just my thought here. At the end of the show, will it be possible that the final winner might not be the best of all the contestants?
He just might not be the worst (might even be 2nd worst) in all the theme. Hence never get knock out at all the earlier theme. Then final theme just happen to be his best battle field. Then he won the title.... Possible right?
There could be one which will be best at all theme but 1st theme kanna is Wedding, which he never taken before.... donno what to expect and screw up the shots... ended up kanna kick out... don't even had chance to even show his works (which might the best among the rest) at all.
I mean this is not sports like football, where knock off rounds are normally used to get final champion, as there is a standard field and ball to play with. This is photography, we are using different theme every time. Wedding photographer may not do insect or flower micro well, micro may not do landscape well, landscape may not do wildlife well, wildlife ...... you get what I mean... (I hope)
I just think that maybe a point awarding system (best pic will have 10 pts and worst will be 1pts) will be much fairer, and will get a real best all round photographer at final.
Again, I am just sharing my thoughts.

quite true. but looks like the contest is not looking at what u are best at... so if u are inflexible (in terms of photography genres), then u are out.

Saw the show last night. It didn't appear as boring as I'd imagined actually.

With regards to who wins in the end, I couldn't agree with the parting shot. Its not the end of your photographic endeavour if you lose, its a learning experience. These contestants are not experienced enough to specialise in a single genre, they probably don't know what theu will pursue eventually. I thought the challenge was to stimulate their creativity and gaining the necessary technical knowledge to achieve their photographic intentions. Sure, some are placed outside of their comfort zones but you will learn only when you make all these mistakes.

I didn't really like Joey's attitude towards her critics. She's too damn precious about her work.

I just think that the elimination part is crappy..
They don't have to call everyone and tell them that they are safe in the end.
What's the purpose of bringing out the winner after being announced the winner?
It just doesn't make sense..
Could have just announced the winner, explain y..
And bring out the bottom 3 or so... and explain y before eliminating the loser.
Seriously... that part is so crappy!

looks like liew is going to win this season 1 of The Big Shot :)

i hope to see joey get kick out, can't stand her more and more, find her getting very snobbish.

what's with the gloves? to look more "pro"

she also laugh when she no kana eliminate...:nono:

I thinking that she might have eczema on that hand.

i find her attitude very bad, no sports womenship.
I think it is a natural reaction to stress for some people. More like laugh in relief of sorts.

Well, it seems that our prayers have been answered. Joey is out.
