Cuz sour grapes. Most of them want to apply but didnt dare.

Witness one incident b4.

One of my colleagues went on a long weekend and my wonderful golden fingers colleagues

make alot of commentary infront of my boss during lunch.:thumbsup:

No wonder no matter how much effort that colleague put in, my boss still condemn him.

Wah. A very stressful work situation you have there.

Worse.

The culture here is weird.. its small company but sadly my colleagues here dun work as a

team. Everyone is quick to criticise and highlight one another mistakes and shortcomings.

Boss expects everyone to work hard. But He failed to realise that he himself must work hard

and not expect others to work hard for his business. At the end of the day, it's his business.

I hab been working for 11 days straight, weekdays worked for more than 9 hours daily.

.

Later got to work OT until dunno what time, tomorrow still have to come back.

No OT pay, our OT compensation is a packet of chicken rice with mineral water. Some days

if my boss go home early, dinner is eat yourself

You are way over-worked, Bro.

Is'nt "leave" part of the remuneration package?
I dont see anything wrong with applying leave next to a public holiday so that you can extend a holiday. U can leave on Wed night & return on Sun night, 4 days holiday with one days' leave.

No Deepavali in Aussie

Wah. A very stressful work situation you have there.

Its more stressful dealing with ppl than work itself :(

You are way over-worked, Bro.

Thanks for the concern :)

At least I am better off than some my friends. SMSed my friend and he is still working in

wafer fab  .......

Maybe this is the lifestyle for Singaporeans.

Work Work Work, Pay Pay Pay, Tax Tax Tax.

When we are old and can't work, we can't conveniently die off to ease the burden off our

first class society and off our children.

Let's pray for good health until the age of 80

those working in wafer fab are most likely on shift.

Exactly ! I dun see anything wrong in that too. But our colleagues and boss see this as

slacking. There is plenty of work for us to clear and he discourges employees to take leave

unless it is urgent matter. This is a common problem with small companies where manpower

is thin.

He feels employees taking long weekend is disruptive to the company's

productivity. You must acculmuate merits and earn the right to take leave to enjoy the

long weekend.

Haiz... even my manager recently expressed intention to resign.

He is not working on shift

His company is the vendor for the wafer fab equipment.

Working hours 8.30 to 6pm. Mon - Fri.

His company was my ex-company main competitor :)

He once told me tat he worked 3 week without rest... Working even on weekends

I questioned him why is he working so hard ?????

He just replied... "for money"

I understand tat as they only get to do OT when there is new installation or fault.

Otherwise, normal days will have no OT. Their basic pay is very low. So got to earn OT

when there is a chance.

For those interested to know: OT pay is roughly $$12 to 15 per hour on Sun... depending
on basic.

Well, we should look at the bright side of life. We live in a great environment that many others would like to come and apply for PR. And we have to work only 5days out of 7, or rather we have 2 rest days out of 7, which is almost 30%, and got annual leave plus 11days of public holidays.

And most of us will have to work or slog until the age of 65..... think of it that you're not gonna to retire anytime soon. So think of making the best out of your working life, establish good working relationship with your colleagues, your subordinates and your boss too. Enjoy working and have a sense of achievement in your job. How about that.

Well that is why I don't like to work for small company.
The tendency to squeeze you is even higher as compared to big companies.

Another thing, base on my personal view, smaller company does not come with branding, as such these people from the SME might be slightly less attractive to be employed by big MNC companies.

Great. :bsmilie:

I'm probably working throughout the entire week.... Without extra pay. :bsmilie:

If everyone's the boss, who's the worker? :dunno:
