I've just bought a Philips Monitor 107X4 and under the "adjust colour" it was advise by the user maual to set the monitor to sRGB mode for accurate colour reproduction. In this sRGB mode, it fixed the contrast and brightness setting to a default value and it claim that the colour gamut is also changed.

Question: Should I base on this setting for photo editing or use the calibration method as suggested by Adobe Photoshop?

If you use mainly srgb colorspace for your workflow.. then it may be a good idea..BUT
I believe monitors will lose its accuracy in colors every few weeks.. so.. maybe adobe calibration every few weeks will be a better solution.
