Sony DSC-RX100

Hello Sir,

Glad you had a good experience at our store! No, we are not John 3:16, they are our pleasant neighbours further down at the escalator area.

Click! is by Max Photo and we have been around for 30+years in Chinatown and Centrepoint, and we also own the 3 Leica stores in Singapore. Recently we opened in Funan and we wish to provide everyone with the best service and upfront prices without customer fear of getting bad prices. For an RX100 update, Sony is bringing in some sets for us today but we are fully booked on the reservation list, and won't have any more sets till after the Sony GST sale is over. We apologize to all who were unable to get it at our store, but we welcome you to come over to try any camera you wish before you make your purchase :)

Oh... they told me they were previously in chinatown and another place that i cant recall the name... i really enjoyed my experience there today (for the reason that i got to play with all the items i enquired - they offered to let me try without me asking. They have opened body and lens set for you to try and compare. Guess they are like Sony Wisma Atria). Heck, they even let me use their sdcard to take photos and i even compared the photos i took with different lenses on their imac!! U cant get that at sony wisma...

Coincidentally, i think john 3:16 had a refresh/re-opening of their shop??. New design and lotsa flowers bouquets etc...

Sorry to OT but do u had any news on d arrival of RX1? Tks.

Hmmm I might be thinking of a different one... The one I am talking about is a small shop inside the big mac accessories store.

yeah, it's another store. I saw him one day too inside that mac store. Did a double take..didnt know he left 3:16. :)

Hi Brother Thoth, no problem! I just helped you call Sony - they mentioned "most probably" by the end of this year, but we will only be able to get a better picture next week :)

Hi, tks for the input. I am asking on behalf of bro pit14 who is eagerly waiting for it. He was too shy to ask... ;p

Haha no worries, next time any price you need at all can ask us directly, we will be pleased to help :)

Yup, he says he's trying to specialize in serving the nature and wildlife photogs

The Gariz case for the RX100 does not allow you to access the battery or SD card compartment without removing the case. I didn't find out until after I bought it. Still, no regrets. I really like Gariz cases. I find the Sony case a bit bulky n makes the camera less pocketable vs the Gariz. Personal preference only as I've seen a number of positive comments about the Sony case too.

ooh didnt know cant access battery compartment. i got the sony case real cheap,,60 bucks in hk only . so didnt want to get the gariz one

Has anyone used a CDL filter from Carry Speed for your RX100? Any feedback?

What's CDL? Or do you mean CPL? Are there any of such filters available on the market already?

Sorry I mean CPL. They are avail from Cary Speed's website specially made for the RX100 and also avail at ArtworkFoto in Adelphi, but not cheap.

Thanks. Saw this on youtube a while back but it wasn't available for sale yet then. Looks cool! How about getting the stick on ring + appropriate step-up ring filter, then using regular filters like B+W or Hoya? Then there will be no question over the quality of the Cary Speed CPL.

That's probably a good idea, but don't you think that it might become too heavy and whether the magnets are strong enough to hold both the adapter and filter? We don't want the thing to drop during use. Wonder if can add a lens cap to the CS CPL...

There is a video on the Cary Speed website demo-ing the magnets. Looked pretty sturdy. It could even hold a step-up ring filter 42-77mm with a 77mm variable ND filter with seemingly no problems. I think a step-up ring filter to a smaller size like 52mm would be pretty safe.
