And so, I would give my unsolicited comment to your two portrait photos: I think in these two cases, the blurred lights / bokeh in the background distract from the main subjects as they seem to be the brightest objects in your frame.

I use Nissin i40 for its compactness, bro.

nice.. I haven't tried using hvl-48m with vivitar 55/2.8 yet... also not very good in lighting
