No audio samples yet but the Rode PodMic is one of the rare non-ribbon dynamic mic with this sort of form factor.
On camera it looks better than an old fashioned SM58 without the unforgiving pick up of a condenser mic.
But off-camera, it could be worth buying as an overhead boom mic if (AND ONLY IF) the pick-up sits somewhere between a studio condenser and a dynamic hand mic.
Likely much better rejection than a shotgun mic or lavalier if the distance is short but still out of frame.
Not for low-talkers of course.
