project screen to projector

Hey guys, need your help here, like to check with you what do i need to key on my Mac powerbook to project my screen to the projector.

With the aid of one of the connectors that come with the powerbook, i also need to press F7 right? or a combo of Apple+ F7? Please help, thanks!

Go system preferences -> Displays -> Detect displays. Check the "Shows displays in menu bar" box, to have it on the top menu bar all the time. It's faster that way.
