I thinking of getting some of my MF 6x6 photos printed and framed at home, but am trying to figure out the best way to go about it..

As the photolabs only offer prints in a rectangular format, I'm guessing if i sent my images in for printing without cropping, it'll either be automatically cropped, or be placed in the middle with white empty space either side.. both of which will look bad IMO since I don't wish to crop my images.

Is cutting out the empty space without cropping the best way to go? & are square frames easy to find? Not sure if Ikea has them too, as most are meant to fit standard sized photos..

Would appreciate advice on how to best present square images in print..

Tks.

just ask the lab to leave white borders on both side, then trim away the borders yourself with a pen knife and steel ruler.

you can just pass the print to frame maker to do a custom frame for the square format
