Please recommend me a digital camera

Hello all...

I am interested in taking up photography and I will be learning photography using a SLR film camera soon. I am interested to get a digital camera also, in the price range of $700-$800 and has full manual settings. I will be using it mainly for architectural photography and some general shooting too... Please recommend me a good camera in this range, thanks a lot.

I have considered the following models:
1) Canon A40 - lacks manual settings
2) Olympus C700 - only 2.0 MP
3) Olympus C720 - heard of its focusing problems
4) Canon S30 - a bit over budget

get the C720UZ. it's probably has enough features and and offers sufficient flexibility for a start.
