Hmmm, from all the samples posted so far, I fail to see the chroma noise that the Digital Life reviewer so fervently said he saw....

Don't you guys think the noise is strange-looking at 100%, like a texture - rice grains? gunny sack? JPEG artifacts?

Not too bad for me. Considering it's ISO800.

Umeiko, impressive result for the 2nd pic by handheld. May I know whats the iso setting, aperture and shutter speed you have used? It would be nice if you can try some test shot of the same scene using tripod.

It's 1/20s and f/2.1. I have inserted the info into my post now.

I did not bring my tripod that day. I always carry LX3 around and use it for snapshots.
