Myself and matchbox are originally in the MO list to get LX3. We had a few sleepless nights though. As such bited the bullet and matchbox had rush to SLS yesterday to help get 2 sets.;p

Looking at the pics here and after trying out yesterday, I would say no regrets. Quickly grab one if you intended before they are out of stock :bigeyes:

from a compact digital cam and not a dSLR...

if u print up to A4 ...the noise is still manageble. 4r should be usuable with iso 1600
noise not so much for bright area, more obvious in the dark area
some sample of the shot taken at various high iso taken in aperture mode at -1ev

I have the f31, i can safely say, f31 is no match against this beast.
the LX3 easily trash f31 when it comes to optic, the absence of CA, corner to corner sharpness and of cos fantastic f2.0-2.8.

just come back from a shoot, the IA mode is significantly faster and damn accurate with exposure....especially for portraiture, the auto enchancement work very well

It will be better if we can compare those scenaries which could be taken by Sony W300, Fuji F100fd or nikon P5100 too...
(especially night shoot).

not really much, but this is where electronic shutters of compacts rule.. with dSLRs the most is abt 1/250th without banding occuring..

The competition is so good these days for PnS that in most cases it is hard to distinguish the best cameras as all seem to produce good results. I think the true ability is under low light conditions or when a fast focus speed is required..so perhaps judge the LX3 at this aspect
