Today's eclipse

Very Cool!

Testing the Canon FD 400 with the 1.7x AF adapter. Works as long as you are not going beyond 10+m.

I remember you posted this setup some time ago. You should post more photos taken with this lens.
Really fantastic o/p from what I see here.

Some recent shots taken with the K5 and Sigma 10-20mm, view from Swissotel (my friend was staying there). Both are stitched panoramas of 5 vertical frames.

The usual high quality and thoughtful photos from you. :)

I was using this lens more with my m4/3 until I recently saw a tip from pentaxforums about getting a FD-PK adapter and screwing out the glass element to make a macro adapter. You can actually ask jinfinance on ebay to remove the glass first before sending it to you. Helps to improve the maximum focussing distance (it acts as a 15mm+) extension compared to my previous FD to nikon+nikon to PK adapters. If you can grab hold of a FD L 400 or 500 you can really go wild with converters. I only dared to stack this with 1 more 1.5x to improve max distance. Read that someone did the same with a Nikon 400/2.8 to PK. Long lens are quite suited for using glassless adapters as long as infinity is not important and considering the outrageous prices for big glass in pk mount. Dunno why no one came out with a 95mm filter 300/3.2 or 400/4.5 any more. These will be almost as light as a 77mm lens and faster. The Tamron 300/2.8 is like almost 2x the weight.

a couple of pic from my recent stay in Plantation Bay Resort, Cebu. Taken with Tamron 17-50 and B+W ND10 fliter

Try applying some pp from my usual normal autoscan then upload workflow.

1. Adjust curve to slim S shape, try to recover the highlight part.
2. Try G'Mic plugin for GIMP to reduce noise (G'MIC - GREYC's Magic Image Converter)

One of the reason I make a trip to Langkawi is to capture this bird and add to my kingfisher collection.
However I didn't get the other skittish and shy black-capped kingfisher, seen him but too far, probably need at least 800mm lens. :(
