Beautiful shots, Darren ! :)

Hey Desmond and guys,
Your shots of the girls on the swing was good! I tried quite a few and at one point even tried out "sports" mode and continuous shutter but the shots came our blurred or the camera locked onto the background. How do you guys do it? Is there a technique or you just need to be fast? :)

OK.
I though we should show our hard working group photographer in action!

I like the color in this one. Very nice! You have a nice young brother, we were together for most of the outing:)

Superb lake shots from our USA-based man.. the bird in flight against the sunrise is my fave.

I was using the manual K135, and no continuous shutter (I so rarely use that mode I forgot it existed!), so it was a matter of trial and error. Only took a dozen or so shots.

On AV mode, f2.5 or f4, and the smooth focus ring and relatively slow and predictable arc of motion helps. My photos are kind of soft, which is all due to my (lack of) skills, but acceptable to me! :D

2 more..

On a high!

Fun!

Desmond, nice macros, especially the butterfly and stinking bug.

Darren, great shots of your side of picstures.

Seefei,

stinking bugs, 3 shots and still out of focus.

This was shot in the earlier morining when all of you went to break fast:bsmilie:

Probably 10 shots and 1 keepers and especially, windy period of the monsoon, its very difficult to capture macro with this environment.

Thanks charlie, Ben for compliements and nice meeting new pentaxians as well, not fogetting the old-bies.. ha ha....

Just a lens and there are just different eyes, different perspective from the beautiful images posted in this thread .

Great photos guys! Can't join you guys as its the examination period. Hopefully I'm able to join the next 1! :)

Nice to see so many Pentax users at the outing and it was also good to see the new K-x in action. Just brought along 3 lenses: the D-Xenon 12-24mm f/4. the DA 50-200mm f/4~5.6 WR and the FA 100mm f/2.8 Macro

Guys..great event. Had to leave early to attend a parents briefing for my son activities. Sorry that I missed the beers. ;p

Thanks to all who patiently explained to me some basics of photography and lens

Hopefully get better next time.
