Pentax SDM repairs

Hi,

Anybody with experience getting their SDM lenses repaired locally? I need to fix my DA 16-50 and 50-135. What's the cost? And turnaround time? Any advice?

to call and ask our friendly Pentax repair guy at APD. He will be the best one to give you an answer.

Why not convert to screw drive? I've heard that it's just as fast, if not faster. You just need someone with an older DSLR i think.

There is a broken cable with the 16-50. I see it in the focusing distance scale. Lens is stuck, can't even manual focus..

probably a fine wire rather than a cable that you saw?

It's about 2mm thick. Don't find any reports online....
