The m42 adapter in fotografix is likely the same as the one in ebay sold by camera hunter.
It looks exactly alike.

If 3 rd party adapter is better, it is cheaper too.

Yes, they look exactly the same. I prefer it over the original Pentax one

First thing to check is : Make sure the custom setting "FI with S lens used" is set to "available".

As to the Auto/Manual switch, yes, you need to switch to Manual (so you'd be able to adjust aperture).

Yap... the foil did it... thanks fengwei. I would never thought of this... :what:
The adpater did allow the lens to be firmly mounted with no gap... but the lens is too small to cover the contacts. The foil extend it by a few mm and did the trick.

Everything else works... except the lens dun lock in place.
