I believe you mean focus peaking like in the GXR and NEX. I believe that the preproduction sample Fengwei had omitted this feature but it would be available in the retail version.

Is that for sure? I can't that feature in the official Pentax specifications.

I believe Ricoh has that feature (at least on its GXR modules - I recall the M mount module has it), so it would probably be no trouble at all to implement it in the K-01 if they chose to do so. :)

Indeed, it has focus peaking.

why so many discussion on the body but not the new pancake?! haha i want the new pancake so much more than the body lol.

so thin and looks like it will be very affordable like the da35mm f2.4. if it has decent center sharpness at wide open it will be a winner!!! cant wait for sample images taken with the new pancake!

Yah loh, i agree... I immediately want to buy one when it is out & to be used on my K-5. My friends will envy & maybe in awe.

Anyone tried using it in bright daylight?
I think using LCD is good for macro and indoors but will we be able to see it clearly when its bright?

These days with the availability of true black LCD screens, they are viewable under even the brightest conditions. I had my NEX with me 2 years back on a super bright snow capped mountain topped and the screen was still very visible. So I am pretty sure such screens have become mainstream. :)

Do tell here when the 40mm f2.8 XS lens hit the stores...

Think I will get a GXR for the time being and hoping Pentax/Ricoh release the K mount module in future. The weight of the body is the main concern comparing to GXR. Sorry Frank...

But....but....
its not AF and the GXR is not light either! ;)

Hope you won't feel sorry when the K-01 comes to the market ;)

haha hard decisions, my lovely Kx body weight ~580, the up coming K-01 ~561, comparing to the GXR ~226 (measurement in grams with battery, excluded lenses) it's still a different, especially going abroad hanging around with the 2 kids

Anyway, we are still the same family as of now....:bsmilie:

as a GXR user, i can share that the GXR + A12 28mm is very light and comfortable to carry everywhere but may be a little wide for some. the A12 50mm, perspective is just right but AF is not very fast. u have to be used to it.

The S10 is basically a PNS so IQ not very impressive if u're used to APS-C quality type pix.

for holiday, u're better off bringing the KX with 18-55 or a fast f2.8 zoom like the tammy 17-50 or da* 16-50.

the K-01 has its uses and the GXR is not really the same thing even though its smaller and lighter. the GXR k-mount, if it ever comes, is a very odd product to me... i don't think i like the idea of mounting k-mount lenses on a GXR. the balance would be awkward.

waiting for the white body. anyone has idea when it is available in SG ?

I find it odd that they've got intentions to come out with a K-mount module. If it actually comes out, and AF is not crippled, it's actually quite an alternative for Pentax Ricoh GXR users. There's no need for an adapter for an adapter module, so that's got to be good. Slap on the latest 40XS or the DA Ltds, and you get quite a smaller mirrorless offering from Pentax Ricoh. But of course, DA* lenses, zooms or larger primes just feels weird on such a small mirrorless setup.
