The FX01 has already probably been 'replaced' by the FX07 i think..abit strange for panasonic to do this...but i think the price will probably drop for the FX01..

just went to check out the prices at funan. fx01 going for $490 and fx07 going for $570. free 512mb and original case.

anyone from past experience knows whether comex will offer better prices than the specialist camera shops. generally i thought it shows prices are only better than big retailer but not much difference from the smaller shops.

Anxious to get one asap but not sure if I should wait for the comex .

any inputs will be deeply appreciated.

thanks

comex price will be the same as price from courts/harvey normal normally. all they make it attractive is bundle with more freebies like cleaning kit/light tripod. most of which the consumer who buy the camera doesn't really use.

so i guess it should be ok for me to get it from camera shops. anyone know if there are any shops at sim lim, funan or peninsula that might offer better prices than alan's photo at funan for the fx07 at $590? Hope to get it soon for school holiday outings with my kids.

tks

bought the cam in may at parisilk @ holland village for $590 when it was just launched... quite happy with it. thought it's a good price point for its specs.

checked with them last month if they're selling the marine case but it seems that panasonic didn't bring it in.

anybody here knows if any shop is selling the case in singapore? saw the listed price on the web @ us$249!

Hi guys,

have to steal this thread for a while. I've been looking at FX01 for a while and I've been sold by it's 28mm lens.

However, I've been at the specs on the internet and it seems like it doesn't have Aperture, or Shutter-Priority or Manual Mode. Also, I can't find anywhere that says that it has Spot Metering (all the specs says is Weighted Metering. Note: it's not Spot focusing).

Hopefully the DMC-FX01 users here can help to enlighten me. Thanks.
:D just use , don't think too much , if want everything go n buy dslr ..when u zoom ,aperture change automatic..

Saw your previous post in this thread and I can assume that you are a scuba diver too. Well, I'm only looking at silhouette shots and CFWA shots with the camera. Requirements of course are wide angle (though 28mm underwater is not enough for CFWA but close enough), spot metering and DOF importance.

Have thought about DSLR but I'm too pampered with Leica lens and also the Live View. And not to mention, the price of an underwater casing for a DSLR...
