I have also test/play around with the camera at the shop.
I just realised for 72Mbps, it can only do in mov at 1920 x 1080 25p or 1280 x 780 50p.
So it cannot do 1920 x 1080 50p at 72 Mbps.
Is this correct ?
Also between 1920 x 1080 25p and 1280 x 780 50p, which one is better for 72Mbps.
Thanks
GH3 cannot shoot 1920x1080 50p in 72mbps .MOV, but it is possible in AVCHD and MP4, but at 28mbps only.
I only use 50p when I want my footage to be flexible for slow-mo in post, otherwise I shoot at 24/25p. but for me, not shooting at 72mbps is not such a big issue.. 28 is still better than the GH2, which is already a stunning camera.

AFAIK, 50p/FHD can be recorded at 50Mbps (IPB) in .mov.
Hi all experts,
For shooting video, would you buy this Canon 70D or Panasonic GH3 ?
Thanks
70d not out yet leh.
I rephrase the question.
It is better to buy gh3 now or wait until the 70D to come out which is soon.
Thks

Sorry to throw up more confusion, Ryan. But have you considered the NEX6? It seems NEX 6 is capable of accepting an XLR adapter via the intelligent hot shoe. No audio monitoring like the GH3, but it is cheaper, lighter, has a slightly bigger sensor.
Thanks Bamboo. Isn't the lens in Canon also made by Sony ?IMHO, go with GH3. Canon DSLRs are not quite designed for video capture. Many horror stories...
Exceptions are tbe C100, C300, C500.
GH3 sensor is made by Sony, so will cut nicely with your VG30.

Yes, I compared the OLED screen in the GH3 with the LCD on the 70D. The OLED screens looks better.don't know if anyone has mentioned this.. but GHD also has OLED screen, which is light years ahead of the LCD screens found on Canon DSLRs...
In terms of what difference you mean ?plug any monitor into a Canon and you will see the difference.
