Old Photographs

Need some advice on converting old photographs to digital.

Firstly, I do have a scanner but max size is A4. I have been scanning them at 600 dpi. Is that the best way to convert them? Secondly, is there a shop anywhere that would help me scan my larger photos and convert to digital. Obviously, I want to preserve as much detail as possible and also maybe rejuvenate the colours. Thanks.

you could do a search on old photo archiving in google.

since you have a scanner, might as well diy cos shops would probably charge you a premium per photo, v ex!

for the bigger photos, do a recopy with your camera if you want to DIY
if not then it will be costly
