A very nice capture dude! Which 400mm lens did you use? Care to share?

Sheet, that's insane!

You put the high ISO and 400mm f2.8 lens to good use. An impossible capture if not for your equipment. Cool skills too!

although the context i set for this thread was to discuss the quality of the ISO12400 I do appreciate the feedback. H5!

I will answer all the questions here.

this was taken at the Jurong Bird Park.
I went there to test a new lens.
nikkor 400mm f2.8 VRII

most of you know the light conditions in the World of Darkness.
All I can say is ...... if i don't produce a good shoot, it ain't because of my equipment.
........... hahaha

having said that, it does take practice.

enjoy

Looks like a match made in heaven dude.. At 400mm @ F2.8 I'm amazed by the sharpness that this lens could produce. This seems to be a perfect combo for wildlife photography.

addendum

i converted the image from NEF to jpg at its highest quality.
resized the image from 300dpi to 150dpi.
no other editing was done to the image.

i am as astounded by its quality as you are ........

cheers! from heaven :)

Sorry i was taken aback from the 400mm VRII, i think you made a typo.

cos as of date there is only a 400mm VR

Dude, technically he's right. The VR mechanism version is VRII. If you're still not convinced, please hear it from the horse's mouth..

PS: In fact the old 18-200VR is already on VRII technology.
