Need help-Firewire external HDD not detected

Dear all,

My laptop can't detect my external HDD with IEEE 1394 connection, no problem with USB connection though.

When I connect the HDD to my PC with 1394, -ok.
And advice? Is it the 1394 port on my laptop fautly?

summary;
HDD + Laptop + 1394 = NO
HDD + Laptop + USB = YES
HDD + PC + 1394 = YES
HDD + PC + USB = YES

As mentioned to you earlier, download the latest bios from the Acer website. Go to Device Manager and see if there is any 'yellow exclaimation' mark on the 1394. Try this out first before going further.
