I'll be shooting a school band concert at SCH (Shenton Way) soon. Anyone shot there before? How's the lighting condition and what focal lengths are useful?

What are your equipment?

use 70-200/2.8

you will need a WA to capture the whole band as well. so bring both lenses.
And a flash for back stage shots.
my guess is that you will need fast lens, fast ISO and steady hands (or monopod/tripod)

lighting is quite good when using ISO 800.... bright lenses would be good.

wide angle lens (20mm maximum) is needed for shots of the entire stage

I think you'll are probably taking the picture during their full dress rehearsal, and not during the actual day right ? In that case, you'll probably have lots of time to play around with the setting, etc because the rehearsal will probably last the whole day.

This is a picture of my friend performing at SCH last december.
