I will be having MR Ceremony this Friday at Maju Camp, me and 2 of the CSers here are from 571 SIR.

Hey, my congratulations to you too KT!

Usually, the MR parade will be earlier than your actual MR date, which is the same as mine (1 Apr). Your unit will hold the parade and they'll recall you back for that 'auspicious' day.

Do keep this thread alive and share with us your feelings on that MR parade day. Different unit have different style of celebration. I've got a friend whose unit hold their MR parade in a country club!

All combat equipment like helmet, webbing, full pack, etc. When we're recalled back, they'll re-equip us again.

Photographic equipment, you can dispose them and I can collect from you. :bsmilie:

MINDEF Reserve is a pool of reserve soldiers that will be recalled when there's a war. As in the exact number, I think it's about 300,000 strong. So don't play play with Singapore!

What other equipment are you disposing of? Any photographic equipment? hee-hee

Time pass very fast, so just don't think about it. Just do it and when the day comes, it'll be a good remembrance for the rest of your life. You can then tell your friends, siblings, parents, sons and daughters that you've done it!

You just go and count. If you've done 7 HK and 3 LK, it's then about time.

All units will MR, and that includes SCE. Infantry, Guards and Commandos MR earlier though.

Thanks SB. Everyone needs to earn it, and on that day, one can then proudly say they've done it!

I've got a 3rd sergeant who has done only 5 HKs, but don't know for whatever reasons, has gone MR with us. So wherever he went, kenna 'suan' by us. This shows that if you have not earn it, really no point in going MR, cos the pride is not there. :nono:

Whilst u guys earned it after all ur siong-ness, sometimes its best not to judge anyone by their appearance or the number of HKs they'd served with the unit but by the contribution they made to the nation.

Erm...I beg to differ. We've all serve together as a team and we know what he has contributed or not contributed. I can't say how to compare him with our CO, but I can say what he has done is not as siong as any one of us in the team.

We just felt that it's unfair to those guys who has also served 5 HKs and has not gone MR but being posted to other units.

Anyway, it's just a small incident. The most important is that majority of us has MRed!

hey, dun forget to empty your SAF 11B smartcard of cash ($113 for 2 years). can buy those PT shoes, No 3 working shoes, PT kit, and whatever than can be bought on credit. dun waste the money that our gahment give u...

Depending on your unit, if you can finish your 7 HKs and 3 LKs well before that age, MINDEF will MR you once you've reached that stage. My unit quite fast lah...can 1 physical year do 2 in-camps. So finish well before 40 loh...

No such luck for me leh.. I going 1 HK every 2 years... My unit normally no LK at all leh... :cry:
