44MZ2 with SCA 3202 will be compatible with 5050 or 5060. Works very well.

sorry, it's 44 mz2, not 40mz.

here is the list of flash compatible with 5050. taken off the metz website

mecablitz 70 MZ-5
mecablitz 70 MZ-4
mecablitz 54 MZ-3
mecablitz 44 MZ-2

but if I am right, the 44mz2 with the adpater also quite ex right? 400+?

Ya you are right. It will set you back by 400++. However, you can still use the flash if you happen to switch brand. Just buy the adapter for that brand / model. I think its quite a good investment.
