recently bought some Imedions to use on a SB-800 and notice that the 'skin' of the battery on the positive side is starting to peel and is coming off. suspect that it is due to way the battery cover is closed.

anyone else encounter similar problem? or is this normal?

I have similar problem. I think the 'plastic' encasement of the battery is thick that's why peel off easily.

But I'll continue to use as long as it's intact and safe.

IMO, still OK. But if it continues to peel, need to take note what is exposed. If it is just the white casing, still OK. The integrity of the white casing is important.
