lost warrenty card....

i got a canon pixma printer for my dad to use last year around august... the warrenty card has been filled up and mailed to canon already....
this year recently the printer has been playing diva with me and acting up... paper jammed.... paper just goes in one way and comes out without being printed on... bla bla...
time to bring it to the service centre.... the thing is i can't find the warrenty card...
think canon will fix the printer for free even if i don't have the warrenty card with me?

Maybe check the serial number and call them to see if the warranty is still valid.
